Welcome to our school, the New Zealand Institute of Studies. We are situated in Auckland, New Zealand.

We work with international students who are in New Zealand to improve their English. Upon completion of our programmes many of our students enter tertiary programmes in New Zealand.

Living in another country without family support can be a great challenge. This school not only teaches English but also assists students to settle into life in this country. We aim to help you enjoy your life here, experience some of the activities New Zealanders enjoy and to make sure you achieve the goals you have set for yourself.

Other Additional Costs

• English/ English Dictionary
  All students above elementary must have an English/English dictionary. Students are discouraged from using an electronic dictionary as these are inadequate for learning to speak appropriate English.
   
• IELTS/TOEIC Classes
  Students attending these classes may be required to purchase workbooks to assist with their studies. Students who do not do so disadvantage themselves and cannot expect to gain the full value of these classes. The cost of these may range from between $30 - $60 each.
   
• Business English
  Students attending these classes may be required to purchase workbooks to assist with their studies. Students who do not do so disadvantage themselves and cannot expect to gain the full value of these classes. The cost of these may range from between $30 - $60 each.
   
• Foundation Studies
  Students enrolling in this programme will be required to purchase text books for these classes. A book list will be provided and these may be purchased at the school in the first week of studies.
  
  Arrangements are made with a reputable bookseller to come to the school and sell these to students. The dates of these visits will be advised to students. The texts purchased will be discounted if purchased through the school. The cost of these may range from between $30 - $60 each.
  
  Students who do not purchase these texts will be unable to complete assignments and are unlikely to complete the programme successfully.
   
• Class educational visits
  Teaching staff arrange for educational visits outside of the classroom to promote the use of English. These are made throughout the programme and all students are expected to attend. These are usually places of interest which the students may have previously visited. Assignments relating to these visits are completed and students may make presentations to the rest of the school. Costs involved are shared by the students.
