Language School
is a relaxed and friendly school which has a great location in the centre of
Queenstown, close to all amenities and with panoramic views of the lake and
mountains. Lakes District Language School gives students a chance to meet
students from all over the world. Our foreign language classes enable
students to meet and talk with friendly Queenstown locals.

Lisa Priddey & Rachel Senior are 2 of the
Directors at Lakes District Language School. Lisa and
Rachel are both qualified teachers who have over 20 years in the teaching
and management of Language Schools throughout the world including Europe,
Asia and New Zealand. |
Lakes
District Language School offers tuition for students at all levels, from
Beginner to Advanced. The small classes focus on everyday social and
business English.

Courses available for students from Beginners to Advanced.
This course focuses on spoken English, vocabulary, and using English in
the correct context, as well as developing listening, reading and writing
skills.
New
classes start every Monday. Take the chance to upgrade your oral
competence in a communicative environment. Our professional, experienced
teachers work together to help students to reach their goals.

IELTS
Designed to prepare students for entry into further
academic study at tertiary level or for immigration into New Zealand/Australia.
The course has 4 modules : speaking, listening, reading, writing and
will prepare you to sit this internationally recognized exam.
TOEIC
Designed to prepare students for entry into further academic
education and international corporations. Developed to prepare students by
studying practice tests providing essential information and strategies for
the test that prepares students who are going into the working world.
High School Preparation
Students entering into New Zealand High Schools are
recommended to take this course as it will introduce them to classroom
culture and prepare them for life in New Zealand. They will also be
introduced to some subject language as well as undertaking school visits and
orientation (students should choose one of our General English courses as
listed).
CERTIFICATES
After an initial placement test the students are regularly
assessed and evaluated. A Certificate of Completion is given at the end of
the students successfully completed course.

This package provides 5 mornings of English classes and 3 afternoons at
Coronet Peak and the Remarkables.

programme includes daily English lessons plus a variety of fun and
exciting activities.

Designed for students wanting to improve their golf, or prepare for a
coaching certificate, together with English study.

holiday programme
Designed to prepare students to be able to work in an English speaking
company. The course consists of 2 months full-time study followed by 1
month practical work experience in departments such as marketing,
front-line sales, tourism, etc. |

When students stay with a New Zealand family they become part of the
family. Living with a family gives students the chance to
communicate and practice speaking English in a friendly
conversational environment. Homestay students are able to experience
all the normal things a New Zealand family does such as weekend and
special outings, meals, and having fun.
Homestay includes: a private room, breakfast and dinner during the
week and all meals at the weekend.
Cost is NZ$190 per week (7 days) + NZ$110 booking fee.
Cost for students under 18 years old is NZ$210 per week (7 days) +
NZ$110 booking fee.
Daily homestay rates are charged at $30 per day for all students.
Any homestay extension which involves a change of homestay incurs a
$40 fee.
Queenstown also offers a wide range of other accommodation options
including: hotels, motels, apartments, hostels and camping grounds.

Facilities include a large common room where students can
relax, play games, listen to music and browse through reading books
and magazines. Our School has a fully equipped kitchen, shower, an
outside BBQ area and a quiet self-study room - all available for
student use. Students can book for all activities and sightseeing
tours directly through the school. Lakes District Language School also
offers free Internet access, a listening laboratory and conversational
classes.
A
counselling service is available to give advice and support for
students. Lakes District Language School prides itself on fun
with great after-school activities with staff including : golf, Latin
dancing, cooking evenings, volleyball games,weekend trips and lots
more - come and see!

All
students must pay a registration fee of NZ$150.
If an airport pick up is required, the fee is NZ$40.
